School Visits

In collaboration with the organizers, Chicago Public Schools has arranged for optional pre-conference school visits so you can see Chinese language programs in action. The schools selected will reflect different socio-economic backgrounds and feature various student proficiency levels throughout grades K-12. Their programs all have proven track records of offering high-quality instruction and student achievement. Learn more.

Early Language Learning Workshop:
What Does it Take and What Does it Look Like?

All over the United States, early language learning and immersion programs are hot topics that capture educators’ and parents’ attention and imagination. Asia Society's Partnership for Global Learning (PGL) invites you to a three-hour hands-on workshop, led by prominent experts. Through the workshop, you will learn about different models of early language instruction, familiarize yourself with critical elements for program success, and craft an implementation plan for your school or district.

School visit: $35
Early language workshop: $100 ($75 for conference attendee)

Meeting time and venue
Pre-conference schools visits will depart from the conference hotel. Please plan your travel accordingly. More details will be e-mailed to participants closer to the conference.
