Would Alibaba consider signing up to the principles of the Global Network Initiative? Why or why not?

In an interview a few years ago with the SF Chronicle you talked about how eBay “lost the battle” in China, and that it would be very difficult for them to relaunch in China because of the mistakes they made.

If you were to launch Taobao.com here in the U.S., what steps would you take to make sure that Taobao doesn’t meet the same fate here in the US that eBay met in China?

1、尽管目前北半球已经是春天，但在您现在所身处美国曼哈顿，在很多人眼里仍然是寒冷的冬天，尽管这两天美国股市大幅反弹，但关于美国经济是否触底的争论，仍然很多，不久前你提到“世界经济最黑暗的时候已经过去”，请问此次美国之行，结合目前的情形，请问您的判断是否发生改变，还是继续保持这种看法？
Although it’s spring in northern hemisphere, in many people’s eyes, Manhattan, where you stay now, is still in severe winter. In the last two days, a significant rebound occurred in the U.S. stock market, but it hasn’t stopped the controversy on whether the current U.S. economic atmosphere has sole. More over, you mentioned that “the darkest time of world economy has past already” recently. Based on the current U.S. economic situation you see during this trip, do you change your view, or still stick to your judgment?

2、去年8月您曾到重庆缙云山“禁语”三天，思考“企业发展到最后到底为什么”。为什么当全世界都认为金融危机最严重的时候，您却能够静下心来考虑这些问题？您的收获是什么？
Last August, you came to Jinyun Mountain of Chongqing to “keeping silent for 3 days”, thinking about “what’s the final purpose of an enterprise’s development?” How could you make yourself cool down and make this meditation when the whole world was anxious about the unprecedented terrible financial crisis? What conclusion did you learn from that?

3、作为中国电子商务的领军人物，您对重庆乃至西部目前的经济形势怎么看，电子商务的发展呢？您觉得重庆的中小企业在金融危机下的发展机遇在哪里？作为内陆城市，重庆的企业如何获得更多走出国门的机会？
As the leader in B to B field of China, what’s your opinion on the economic situation and B to B of Chongqing, and even the whole western China? Where are the development chances for the medium and small size companies in Chongqing under such financial crisis? As an inland city, how could Chongqing’s companies obtain more chances to go outside to the world?

How do you thing of the future of Network service companies(in technology)?
