Drawing Room Between the Concord and Merrimack
A highlight of the Asia Society exhibition is a new site-specific installation by YNG, Drawing Room Between the Concord and Merrimack. Conceived, designed, and produced for this exhibition, it is meant to evoke at once Nara’s studio, a concert stage, and a carnival tent—sites that the artist finds most familiar, exciting, and inviting, respectively. References to music are incorporated throughout the work, and Nara encourages viewers to search for associations freely.
