Create Global Learning Activities

Module 3 will prepare afterschool staff to create activities that are globally focused and age-appropriate for the young people they work with. The activities in this module provide practical tools for creating activities inspired by current events, as well as strategies for debriefing global learning activities to ensure meaningful learning.

For global learning activities to be effective, it is essential that staff understand both what global competence is and how to set up an appropriate learning environment for young people to build toward it. Therefore, while it might be tempting to jump right in and begin with module 3, we advise that trainers first lead the activities in module 1, Understanding Global Competence and Its Value, and module 2, Developing an Effective Global Learning Environment, or at minimum review the associated handouts with staff, before beginning module 3.
