Online Book Study: Educating for Global Competence
This virtual book club will connect educators in a collaborative exploration of Educating for Global Competence: Preparing Our Youth to Engage the World by Veronica Boix-Mansilla and Anthony Jackson. Participants will engage in weekly live conversations and ongoing online discussions as they examine the frameworks and case studies in the book and apply the lessons learned in their own teaching. The eight-week book study will be facilitated by an educator with extensive experience teaching for global competence and will include guest speakers who will offer additional expertise in global education.

Online Course: Introduction to Global Competence
This online course will introduce participants to the what, why, and how of global competence: “the capacity and disposition to understand and act on issues of global significance.” Participants will examine the importance of global education in today’s world, unpack the definition and the four key domains of global competence, and explore strategies and resources for educating students in ways that will help them develop these critical areas for 21st-century global citizenship.

Webinar Series
In conjunction with the courses outlined above, guest speakers will provide additional expertise and deep insight on selected topics in global education. These live events will not only enrich the course participants’ experience, they will also be free and open to a worldwide audience. This will bring additional perspectives to the conversation through the backchannel and provide access to the broader global education community.
