Honorary Chairman, Morgan Stanley Dean Witter Asia Limited
Mr. John S. Wadsworth, Jr. is an Advisory Director of Morgan Stanley
Dean Witter and an Honorary Chairman of Morgan Stanley Dean Witter
Asia. In these capacities, Mr. Wadsworth has retired from the active
management of the firm's business in Asia. Morgan Stanley Dean Witter
Asia incorporates all of the Firm's businesses for non-Japan Asia
and Australia, carried out through offices in Hong Kong, Singapore,
Bangkok, Seoul, Taipei, Mumbai, Melbourne, Sydney, Shanghai, and
Beijing. In addition to his responsibilities in non-Japan Asia,
Mr. Wadsworth had policy and strategic oversight for the Firm's
business in Japan.
Mr. Wadsworth joined Morgan Stanley as a Managing Director in 1978.
In September of 1987, Mr. Wadsworth moved to Japan where he was
President of Morgan Stanley Japan, Chairman of its Executive and
Operating Committees and head of the Firm's investment banking business
in Asia. In January of 1992, Mr. Wadsworth moved to Hong Kong. Mr.
Wadsworth will move back to San Francisco on March 1, 2001.
Mr. Wadsworth is a Trustee of the Asia Society, the Vice Chairman
of The Pacific Basin Economic Council (PBEC) United States Member
Committee, a Trustee of Williams College, and a member of the Board
of the Guggenheim Museum of New York. In addition, Mr. Wadsworth
is Chairman of the Board of Directors of Littleford Brothers Inc.
in Florence, Kentucky. Mr. Wadsworth earned a B.A. from Williams
College, and a M.B.A. from the University of Chicago Graduate School
of Business.
