Mr. Ramesh Vangal

After many years building marketing oriented large multinational businesses across the globe, Ramesh Vangal's key focus now is in the Internet and Information Technology space.

Mr. Vangal is the founder and Chairman of AtIndia LLC, an investment company that has H&Q (Hambrecht and Quist Asia Pacific) as a lead investor and strategic partner. AtIndia invests and partners with techpreneurs to accelerate their value creation by leveraging the Indian intellect globally and connecting this with India's significant scale and manpower resources. In addition, Mr. Vangal has been an active investor in a number of IT-related startups. Mr. Vangal also serves on the Board of Infosys, India's premier information technology company that is listed on NASDAQ, as well as in the primary stock exchanges in India.

Ramesh Vangal is also the Chairman, Seagram Asia Pacific for the overall operations of Seagram's Asia Pacific spirits and wine business. In addition to this Mr. Vangal is Seagram's joint venture partner of Seagram India.

Prior to Seagram, Mr. Vangal was President, Asia Pacific for PepsiCo Foods International. Mr. Vangal joined PepsiCo in 1985 and held a variety of positions of increasing responsibility in PepsiCo's food and beverage businesses in North America and Asia. He led PepsiCo's well-publicised entry into India in 1990, landmark project which is widely associated with India's 'liberalisation'.

Mr Vangal was also the first recipient of Pepsi-Cola International's High Performance Leadership Award.

Mr. Vangal started his career with Procter & Gamble in Geneva, Switzerland from where he worked on several operations and marketing assignments in Europe, the Middle East, Central America, the Caribbean and West Africa.

Mr. Vangal received an engineering degree from the Indian Institute of Technology in 1977. He completed his MBA from the London Business School in 1979 and became the first Asian to be the school's prestigious "Alumni of the Year" honor in 1996.
