Karan Trehan is President and CEO of Ankar Capital Management, an independent investment management company which manages a private equity fund investing in Asian financial institutions on behalf of global institutional investors, including the Asian Development Bank. Ankar has also sponsored eAsiaFinance (eAF), a pan Asia supplier of web-based wealth management and banking services to leading Asian financial institutions, in order that they may better serve their growing internet client base. Mr. Trehan is also the President & CEO of eAF, which includes Skandinaviska Enskilda Banken, McKinsey and Tata Consultancy Services as shareholders.

Prior to founding Ankar, Mr. Trehan was President and CEO of Alliance Capital Management International. A predecessor company of Ankar is a local joint venture partner of Alliance's Asset Management Company in India. Mr. Trehan has also worked at Goldman Sachs and the World Bank. He is an MBA graduate from EIMD in Lausanne, Switzerland and is a member of the Young Presidents' Organization and a trustee of the United World Colleges.
