Rahul Singh is a BE & MBA (Bachelor of Mechanical Engineer
and Masters in Business Administration) from Mumbai University,
India.
He joined Citibank in India immediately after his Masters in 1986.
Between 1986 and 1992, he worked in various product & operation
groups at Citibank India. He was responsible for Customer Service
units, Cash Management & Accounts, Trade and Treasury processes.
In 1990 he became the Operations & Product head of Citibank
New Delhi branch covering North India.
In 1992 Rahul worked in Citibank Singapore on an assignment to
restructure Regional Financial Control processes. Following this
he moved back to India as the Financial Controller for the Wholesale
bank, Citibank, India.
In 1994 Rahul moved on as Chief of Staff & Head Strategy Development
to the Citibank Division Head for the Middle East & South Asia
division. During this stint, he was responsible for developing Citibank's
strategy for 8 countries (India, Srilanka, Bangladesh, UAE, Oman,
Bahrain, Lebanon & Jordon). These strategies have since been
implemented as part of Citibank's 'Embedded Bank Strategy' for the
region.
In 1997 Rahul moved on as Senior Country Operations head for Citibank
India. He was responsible for several technology and process reengineering
initiatives. He was also responsible for laying the blue print for
Citibank's remote processing activities in India.
In 1999 Rahul took over as CEO, for e-Serve International Ltd.
(eSIL) (formerly called Citicorp Securities and Investments Ltd.).
This company is an affiliate of Citibank Oversea's Investments Corporation
Limited (COIC). It has 2000 employees located across 9 cities in
India and has a turnover of approximately $ 20 million. Over the
last two years, the company has expanded its client base and now
provides remote transaction processing services to Citibank branches
in 18 countries located in Eastern Europe, Africa, Middle East,
South Asia and the US.
e-Serve International's activities include, remote transaction
processing for wholesale and retail bank products (viz. Trade, Loan,
Deposits, Cash management, Treasury, Securities, Financial Assets
& Cards), call center, eCRM, customer care, collection and software
v & v services.
Rahul is interested in photography, music and sports. He is married
to Chetna Singh and they have 2 boys who are currently in school.
