Born in January 15, 1958, in Tokyo. Graduated Magna Cum Laude in Economics from Harvard University in 1979, and graduated from Harvard Business School in 1981. Joined Goldman Sachs & Co. in New York in the Corporate Finance Department 1981-1990. Moved to Los Angeles in 1990 as Head of Corporate Finance for the Western region. Promoted to General Partner in 1992. Appointed Co-Head of the Investment Banking Division in Japan 1993-95. Became Co-Head of the Equities Division and Co-Branch Manager in Japan 1996-98. Returned as a member of the Corporate Finance department in New York in 1999. Appointed Chairman of the Board of Neoteny in July 2000.
