Director, Ford Asia Pacific IT

January 2000 John was appointed Director of IT for Ford Asia Pacific and Southern Africa to develop and implement an e-Business strategy and to create a centralized IT software services center for Asia Pacific, in India, by creating partnerships with leading Indian IT companies, another strategic project involves setting up Singapore as a communication and application server center for all of Asia Pacific. Supporting the Ford markets in Asia Pacific requires a range of solutions that support emerging countries like Vietnam with a small but growing production to Australia that has a history of market leadership going back to the early 1900s.

John joined Ford in April 1998 as Director of Strategic Planning for IT. In this role he had a number of responsibilities including the completion of the IT Reengineering RFQ and the subsequent contractual agreements with our partners, IBM and Compuware, in support of the USA and European software delivery group and the project management of the deliverables of the IT Reengineering effort. As part of the new Enterprise Process Reengineering team John was appointed Director of Strategic Planning for PL and took on the responsibility for identifying major projects and their associated resources throughout the company in order to drive synergies and manage dependencies.

Before joining Ford, John worked in London City at a large investment bank, providing IT infrastructure management under a services agreement with Perot Systems. During his 5 years with Perot Systems in Europe John had the opportunity of working in a wide range of industries and complex technical environments.

Prior to joining Perot Systems John was with The Walt Disney Company at corporate headquarters as the Director of Strategic Planning during the early days when Michael Eisner and his management team had just taken over. In 1989 John was appointed as the IT Director and CIO for EuroDisney project and was responsible for all aspects of the IT and telecommunication infrastructure for the new theme park located outside of Paris France.

John received his Masters in International Management from Thunderbird University in Glendale, Arizona and his under graduate BS degree in Business Administration from Pepperdine University in Malibu California.

Prior to receiving his Masters degree John was the IT Director for a large film and radio distribution company located in southern California.
