Asia 21 Young Leaders Debate for Building Resiliency Seen as Economic Growth

The debate motion for the Asian Forum on Corporate Social Responsibility 2014 held recently in Manila, Philippines is “Building resilient communities is mainly about economic growth.” Our Asia 21 leaders Arnel Casanova and Vivian Claire Liew spoke for the Proposition, before an audience of 500+ corporate and social leaders, though with a larger segment from NGOs.

The 2013 US-China Intellectual Property Dialogue White Paper was jointly released by the U.S. Chamber of Commerce and Renmin University of China last month. Asia 21′s very own, Seagull Haiyan Song was one the five participating experts from the US and the only female member. Her colleagues included former officials from the US Trade Representative, US Customs, US Patent & Trademark Offices. In an email she stated, “It is an honor, indeed, to be within such a privileged group.”

Asia 21 Young Leader Presents on Resilient and Livable Cities

Filipino urban planner, social entrepreneur, and Asia 21 Young Leader, ARNEL CASANOVA who is the current President and CEO of state-run Bases Conversion and Development Authority (BCDA) of the Philippines gave a talk on the subject of resilient and livable cities last February 20 at Bonifacio Global City, in Manila. The talk was hosted by the Asia Society Philippine Foundation, and Young Public Servants, entitled #iPlan: Resilient and Livable Cities.
