Each year, the Asia Society selects a class of 20-25 candidates for the Asia 21 Fellowship. The Asia 21 Fellows class is a core group of young leaders representing multiple countries and a wide range of fields. The group meets three times during their fellowship: in the Spring at the Asia 21 Forum where they explore critical issues, begin developing their public service project (the PSA), and lay the groundwork for the Summit, in the Fall, at the actual Summit, and then again at the next Forum where they complete their term and meet the new Class of Fellows. Each Forum has two classes of Fellows who arrive at different times but overlap to pass on best practices, to meet each other, and to enhance the Asia 21 Fellow network.
